I spent one night in the Hotel Twenty.
I would say it's a bit dated and needs a refurbish.
Although was really clean.
The reception desk should be on the first floor as you come in the door not downstairs.
Which leads me to say that CHECK IN should have a limited time as I was in the room next to reception desk and was woken with the sound of guests checking in at 1:30am Not Acceptable.
Also not fair on staff having to deal with that after working all day and having to wake early to serve breakfast the next they need rest too.
The staff on the evening we arrived was a lovely lady called Christine who really couldn't do enough to help us and make us feel welcome.
All in all the experience was pleasant and I would stay there again.

Hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Needs a lot of upkeep and renovation. The only good point is the position. Some staff actually abused us verbally on the last day because we commented that breakfast was over 30 minutes late and threatened to cancel the breakfast completely. I gave 1 star since the other staff members were nice and kind.

Stay clear.
The negative:
- They had not cleaned the room in-between stays, we found leftover snacks from the previous tenants.
- The linens were dirty. Bloodstained.
- One window would not open, the other would not close. They were screwed in place.
- Extension cords were plugged in extension cords. A proper fire hazard.
- The curtains would not close, nor would the blinds. No privacy.
- There were mold in the bathroom.
- The water was either freezing cold, or boiling hot.
- The toilet did not properly work.
- No room service or cleaning.
- The breakfast was white bread with cheese.
- The staff was friendly, but apathetic. Like they would rather be elsewhere.
The positive :
- The hotel is situated relatively central. Close to Arthur's seat.
- The hotel is in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is a lovely city.

Great location and generally nice feel. Staff were ok but rude and a bit unfriendly at times. Wifi didn't extend into my room (which seemed fairly central).

The good thing is that the hotel is cheap and quite close to the city centre. Only 3 bus stops or 30 minutes walk and you are at the main street. The breakfast was aweful, they have some boiled eggs, bread, some cheap ham and cheese and butter. The room itself was okay, except they don't really clean it. The desk was full of empty sugar and coffee papers.
