Since the renovations this has become one of the city's most beautiful buildings. Get yourself in there when you can to see for yourself.

Edinburgh university's graduation hall. Also used during the fringe for events. A beautiful interior with incredible wall art.

McEwan Hall is a majestic looking structure on the inside and outside. It's one of the University of Edinburgh's historic landmarks built in 1897 by architect Sir Robert Rowand Anderson and presented by William McEwan, a brewer and politician which also features artwork by William Palin, the central piece featuring philosophers and students in 'The Temple of Fame'. All graduation ceremonies are held in the hall until recent construction work (at the time of this review) meant the location for the ceremonies had to be moved to another location. Having had my graduation in the hall, being surrounded and (literally) touched by history (each student is touched on the head with the cap (the Geneva Bonnet) made from John Knox's breeches.
