I came here on a Sunday, it was busy with large groups who were eating. I only went in for drinks so can't comment on the food.
It's nicely kitted out with traditional bar, but what half decent pub isn't nowadays.
The reason for the 2 star rating.. .price! We had a large glass of house white wine and a pint of doombar = £8.94!! Even the Willy wicket is cheaper and that's known to be expensive for alcohol.

Unfortunately they're always running out of food - last visit they had no chips, lattice fries, peas, mayo dip for the mushrooms amongst other things. No manager around to speak to either.
Sunday lunch more successful but I don't eat here anymore.

Very poor. Booked table for 5 at 14:00 waited to ask to be shown table (despite being walked past a number of times by staff). Bar staff were very busy and helped when they could. Went to order food to be told 2 items had run out; asked if anything else was off the menu -was told only pork as well as the items ordered. Went back to the table to change requests then back to the bar with changes only to be told that the change had also run out. I asked again if there was anything else that had been taken off the menu and was assured I now knew everything that was off the menu.
You know what happens next; I return to the bar a third time to be told that the roast beef was now off.
Had to keep my self together to not lose my temper completely, left the premises without food.
