Superb ...location great..hotel is great..breakfast good ..we ate in local restaurants in the evening.Pools on different levels. staff very helpful and friendly. FUNCHAL is a wonderful corner of the world..Wanna live here one day..oh rooms spacious and big ....it's a winner 🌞🌞❤❤

Nice but I don't know where the 5 stars come from. It seems that a lot of hotels on this island are 5 star. They may meet all the criteria but there is a world of difference between a 5 star here and in other places in the world.
- Staff is knowledgeable and very nice.
- Rooms are clean but a bit dated.
- wifi is free, decent speed and works most places (signal is weak at the ocean level but that is far from the main building)
- like many of the buildings on this island the hotel is a bit of a maze. It appears over the years additions were made.

Stayed on the 17th floor and had a great outlook at the rear of hotel of pool and sea view.
Lovely spacious room with king size bed and plenty of clothes hanging space.
Food good to start with but got bored with it and seemed to be a bit samey by end of week

I was given a large suit on the top floor, fantastic sea views, great sun terrace. Good decor and facilities, spacious bedroom and lounge. The pool complex is very quiet and there is access to the sea via a small jetty. Friendly staff, well looked after. The breakfast is nice with a selection of cooked and cold options.

Fantastic hotel resort, set on a number of elevations, due to the Madeira landscape. Staff great. Facilities superb. And good location.
The only reason it didn't get a 5star from me is -- the building work going on adjacent to it at the time of writing. Although if you got a sea view or pool view you wouldn't notice it.
