Really beautiful view and relatively helpful staff. Both staff members that I worked with had iffy English, and the girl who was there when we came for our luggage was slightly passive aggressive for no reason. After returning from machu piccu, the hot water handle broke off the shower jetting boiling hot water at the door so I had to Macgyver my way out of the shower stall and I was lucky my sister was there to help. They were very kind in that they let me try all the other showers to find some warm water to wash off with, but we had broken the hot water so i got my hot shower the following morning.
With everyone coming and going in the wee hours of the morning, it's also hit or miss with roommates, mine were upset with us for the shower breaking (despite it not being our fault).
But it was cost effective!
Beds seemed a little musty, and the personal lights weren't working.
The dog and cat are cute, but overall this hostel as my last stop before going home didn't make me wish I could stay longer :(.

Great place with nice views, a terraze, cool bar, good food and helpful staff; but a little bit far away from the main plaza (you need to go up some stairs carring your stuff to get there) and also, there's a little hungry mouse living in the luggage store...

I've spent 5 nights here in July 2017.
Great location with fantastic view, decent dorms with fancy design, nice seating corners, great artwork all around. Not as clean as they should be.
Nice staff, really trying to help you where they can, know your name an hour in ... but really incompetent. Mixed up reservations all the time I was there, plus when two other people's beds were mixed up and their clothes thrown around by the cleaning staff, I got drawn into the situation as I had the same nationality as one of the parties.
Sometimes issues with the already limited breakfast.
DO NOT book tours with them (as with any hostel). Tours were more expensive, no contact person, vague details, guides were late by 1h multiple times. Ridiculously bad service.

Nice staff, really trying to help you where they can, know your name an hour in ... but really incompetent. Mixed up reservations all the time I was there, plus when two other people's beds were mixed up and their clothes thrown around by the cleaning staff, I got drawn into the situation as I had the same nationality as one of the parties.

The suite was large, clean and had great facilities. The one problem with the suite, people could see into the room from the stairs through the Bamboo. A curtain or something would provide privacy. The location is hard to find and the exit and entrance are not the same providing more confusion. The hill to get to the hostel is huge and the hostel is far from the main plaza. We saw several cabs not make it up the hill and have to give up, making a cab ride difficult. To catch a cab to the airport, you have to go through the hostel, since most drivers do not know how to find it. Overall, I would stay again, but just remember that the price and cleanliness come at a cost of travel time to the main plaza and the fatigue of walking that hill.

Fun and well maintained place to stay on the northern side of Cusco. Easy walk from the main square with plenty to explore around the hostel. Customer service could use some work but all around excellent place to stay. Affordable price for a very large private room.
