I took the five-day/four-night Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu and it was easily one of the best experiences I've ever had.
The hike was pretty tough, especially on the second day when we trekked up to the Salkantay pass, but remained doable by everyone in our group. I was in awe of the incredible views that were scattered throughout the hike; we saw lakes, mountains, and dense jungle within the first half of the trip.
Our guide, Alexis, did an excellent job leading our group and encouraged us to bond, resulting in a supportive/familial atmosphere both on our hike and in our campsite.
I absolutely loved this trek and would recommend it to anyone who is up for the challenge!!!.
