Not worth the walk from town. The view was nice but the cafe at the top floor had stressed out employees and in order to go to the viewing platform one needs to buy a ticket.

Free shuttle bus from Harpa to Perlan was a nice touch. Exhibition centre was nice and clean. Man made glacier tunnel was impressive and really cold (take the coat they offer you). Nice pictures before you go in. We were fortunate that there was a large school group behind us so we were put in before them on our own. Guide was really nice and explained it all to us. Interactive exhibit after was interesting and pretty cool using motion sensors for screen interaction. Price about GBP 20 each (steep) but we had a 50% discount so was worth it for us. Better than I thought it was going to be. Would recommend.

A real hidden treasure! Inside this old hot water storage tower is a restaurant, cafe and viewing platform with the best views in Reykjavik and also an artificial ice cave! The ice cave exhibit is remarkable, not only is the cave itself large enough to feel as if you were in a glacier, but the guides are fun and knowledgeable and there are some really interesting displays on glaciers.

We only went up to the viewing platform, which is free in September (490 Kr in the summer, at least it was in 2017). The views from the top were brilliant, and there are also telescopes available (you have to pay 100 Kr though). There is a coffee shop on the top floor that was reasonable by Icelandic standards, and the usual gift shop. Downstairs there was an exciting looking glacier exhibition, but we thought it was too expensive, even at a 'discount' price of about 2900 Kr, so we didn't go.

Ice Cave might be a great experience, for those who can't attend a visit in a real ice cave. After visiting Ice Cave, on the next floor, there is a very educational exhibition about volcano eruptions, you can spend there a lot of time cause it is interactive and cool for kids too. The last stop is the view from the last floor on the shole Reykjavik city. I think this all is worth the price.
