I rented a car from this Hertz location recently and had a horrible experience. I was given a Ford Fiesta as an equivalent to the advertised Fiat 500, which was the least of the problems. The agent had me sign a bunch of forms, rushing me through them and claimed that he had checked of any scratches already on the car and that we didn't need to worry about it. About two hours away from the station, the tire pressure light came on, which clearly means that they did not check the pressure before renting me the car. I had to stop and fill the pressure, but unfortunately the incorrect manual was in the car and of course Hertz didn't answer the phone to help. After some research on the internet I found the correct tire pressure, which is just what I wanted to do when driving a car that what supposed to be in functioning condition. By the way, the price for rental was overpriced - about 95 euros for two days, but as this location was the most easily accessible for me I chose to try to them out.

So after the two days, I returned the car an hour or so early. Upon returning it, the agent tried to tell me that I had scratched the front right wheel. I explained to him that I had not. He then accused me of parking somewhere that could of scratched it, and I explained to him that we had driven predominately on the highway and had always parked the car in private parking lots where no scratch could have taken place. He then tried to tell me to pay for it anyway and I explained that I would of course not pay for something I didn't do. Additionally, he decided somehow that the small scratch should cost 210 euros and that I should pay a 50 euro fee for "service". I finally was able to make it clear to him that I would not pay for something that I didn't do and he said that he would have a Hertz representative contact me. No representative ever contacted me, and they took 210 euros out of the account that I had used to rent the car. I did not give permission for that and now have to have my bank get my money back. Additionally, whoever took the money out was acting illegally as I didn't give them permission.

It appears that this Hertz likes to scam its customers into paying for damage that they don't want to pay for, when it's likely that the agent made the scratch himself, or purposefully didn't mark it off when renting the car. I recommend to take your business to another company than Hertz, and to definitely never use this Hertz location if you don't want to pay fees for something you didn't do.
