Character building, attractive location, hospitable management,excellent breakfast.
Very highly recommended. Plan to go there and stay longer on my next trip.

Great stay at Freiburg. Easily accessible by Tram no 2. The tram stop is just opposite. You are at the starting point of Black Forest. Great decor. Very cozy. Excellent hospitality and breakfast. They do not accept cards so only cash

we have stayed here three times, and have always found it good value. the hotel is a little rustic,as you would expect from a old building on the edge of the black forest. the rooms are clean, the shower's good, also the beds are clean and comfortable. we were here in September,and had a nice welcome from barbara and holiger. turn right and walk to the cable car to schauinsland,or the forest is opposite the hotel. it's about 4 miles walk to Freiburg or the strassebahn is across the road.we also had a couple of nice meals in the restaurant in the evening. holiger was very helpful with local information. perfect location ! would visit again.

Old, scruffy and dirty interior. The smell of mold is very apparent at the rear entrance. Very expensive for what you get. The owner didn't want to switch on the heating so we could dry our soaking wet motorcycle gear for the next day. The public transport connection to the center of Freiburg is brilliant, though. I will definitely not visit this place again
