I do not agree with the reviews posted here. However, it's my two cents. We saw people who were waiting being offered complimentary glasses of house wine. We were told to wait 45 minutes, however nobody offered us the same. After waiting an eternity, when it came to the food, it was pretty average and not worth the wait at all. It seems that these people treat Asians mildly differently than others. However, I couldn't care less and would avoid this restaurant at all costs in an otherwise beautiful country with great people.

The IT restaurant I'm sure. Does not take bookings. Plant yourself on a cushion on the steps outside with many others and wait to be seated with a glass of red wine. You will not be disappointed. Simple authentic Croatian food but be advised they do not serve beer.

Lovely little local family run restaurant (that is admittedly overrun with tourists). There's a bit of a wait, but they'll sit you outside in the stairs and offer you a cushion - you can also order wine while you wait.
We ordered the prawn pasta (highly recommend it), the octopus salad (also recommended) and the grilled vegetables. All were generously portioned and reasonably priced. Overall suggest dropping in whilst you're in Hvar town.

Super cute restaurant, decorated in traditional style. Took a while for us to get service, but once we did the lady was very friendly. Had the fish platter for 2, which was nice. The grilled vegetables are absolutely amazing. Try the drunken figs! They are great! The house wine is good and well priced. No cover charge. A good value for your money.

Well worth the wait for Konoba Menego. When we got there the owner told us it would be around 20 minutes and he handed us cushions we could use to sit on the stairs and offered us wine. While we waited more and more people arrived to also wait for a table which goes to show how popular this place is. The interior was very farmhouse chic which I loved. Now to the food...unbelievable! My husband and I are both pretty sure it's one of the best meals we have had recently. We ordered both gnocchi dishes and the drunken figs and a half litre of house wine. In total our bill was only €40 and it was the best meal we have had in Croatia. Cannot recommend this place enough.
