The Cinema Theatre has transformed me into a much bigger movie goer than I ever was. At $3 a pop for students (and sometimes two pops, during the double features), the prices really can't be beat. They show mostly movies that have been out of theaters for a few months -- basically, movies that are still new enough to be cool, but old enough to not break your bank. Note: they only take cash.

The theatre doesn't do that many showings (maybe one or two a day) and it's never that full. Nothing fancy; def old school cool. I love this place and I'm there a few times every month. If you haven't gone before, definitely go check it out!

This corner of Rochester feels like 1950. This theatre has one screen, shows movies after their run at the bigger theatres. This place has a cozy feel, the staff is friendly (especially the guy who runs concessions, you could talk to him for hours, he is so cool). He told us (and I feel this is true) you can either find a garbage movie or a great movie they end up playing. They have two individual shows during the day and a double feature at night. The double feature is $5...which is amazing even for terrible films. I saw Lucky Logan and The Big Sick, both of which I would have never seen on my own and are both fantastic, which goes back to the fact you can find great films.
Concessions are priced great: we got popcorn, soda and 2 candies (m&M's) for $11.
The seats aren't anything to rave about and it looks like it's going through a paint job. There's a oscillating fan in the front of the theater and when the aspect ratio of the film changed, they had to literally move the screen...as in someone had to go up and move it.
In short, it is not Regal or AMC, not by a long shot, not even Movies 10. It's like the only-theatre-in-a-small-Stephen King-type-dirt-road-population-of-300-type-of-town.
It's so nostalgic. I think it's the kind of place you'll love or hate. I loved it. I described the place like a dump. And it kind of is. But I gave it 5 stars for the feel, the interactions I had, and the prices for what you get.
Also, for every $12 you spend at the Highland Diner across the street, you get a free ticket. You have to use it that day, but it's great for dinner and a movie on a budget or for just for some classic feeling fun.

Really cool, old school homey, neighborhood movie spot. It has the potential to be much more if they'd get their social media interaction out of the dark ages. We saw Wonder Woman at a matinee for $3. That place should have been packed with families . There were less than 20 people. All shortcomings were made exponentially better by the staff. Great job guys!

We love coming to The Cinema! Great atmosphere, low ticket prices and very affordable concessions! Enjoy great movies without spending a fortune.

Love this place. Grew up attending flicks there and still do. All these big franchise theaters ain't diddly squat compared to the experience you get. People who live in the city love the idea of not having to go out to the 'burbs to go see a film. There's nothing like the Cinema!!
