Office gave me the wrong keys to my vehicle, had to stand in line for the correct keys. Then the lady didn't provide the key with the fob so when I returned they thought I kept it and called me repeatedly the following week to confirm I didn't have the key. Overall, just a hassle.

National Car Rental is by far the best rental company for cars out there! I can't even tell you how easy it is. It is so simple and easy and fast. There are never any lines because they have their process down! You get to the counter and they take a couple of pieces of information but if you are a member of their site which is completely free and NOT ANNOYING AT ALL to join they have most of your stuff already on file so before you know it they are asking you (if you are Emerald Club Member - which is their free membership and you pay for emerald club aisle car) which car you would like to take out of there. You tell them, they say you're all set. Go out to the aisle, find your car and drive away! Returning is awesome, you drive in, drop your car and someone comes out to see how everything went and you are on your way. My experience at other car rental companies is they can't find your reservation, they don't have a car, you need to give them 1,000,000 pieces of info, etc. I love National and won't rent anywhere else!

Service was great, both picking up and dropping off. Agents were friendly and explained everything without pushing all the add-ons. The only issue was when I dropped the car off, the price was higher than expected. A quick email to customer support and they explained that the car was returned 45 minutes later than I originally indicated. It was still within 24 hours of when it was picked up, which seems standard for most rental places. In any case, they promptly refunded the overage.

Rented a new Nissan Altima for a business trip. While the car was mechanically/aesthetically in great condition, and the customer service was great, the inside of the car smelled strongly of grape flavored cigars and weed. This would have been very embarrassing if I was on a trip with coworkers or customers. I hope National is more careful about cleaning their vehicles (smell included) in the future.

A huge THANK YOU to the National Car Rental team at ROC airport! You took such excellent care of me during my last trip trip to Rochester - I was truly delighted with the service and care I received. I rent from National a lot and often have very good experiences, but your team went above and beyond both at pick-up and especially at return when with flights/delays in question, you gave me comfort in flexibility of my car return. As a busy business traveler, having one less worry means the world, and I am grateful for your team and their joyful willingness to recognize and meet my needs. A job well done!
