Although I was thrilled to find a rental car last minute here the day before Thanksgiving, nothing else about this place really made me feel like a well-served customer. I researched my personal insurance plan beforehand, so I knew whether I needed additional coverage when I picked up the car. The employees here are pretty sullen, and they definitely don't want to be there. Additionally, the guy who seems to be in charge kept "mansplaining" to me why I needed additional coverage for $30 per day, without listening to a word I said about what I had discovered about my own insurance and why I was choosing not to buy extra coverage. He never looked at me once, just kept treating me like his teenage daughter while barking facts and figures at me in a bullying manner. Then the car had electrical issues. One of the two key fobs worked. Beginning 24 hours into the rental, on Thanksgiving Day and 300 miles from there, the other fob would lock the car but not unlock it. I would have to unlock it with the key itself, and then the alarm would blare until I started the vehicle. I was unable to lock the car with the key itself, so my choices were to leave it unlocked when I was away from it, or lock it electronically and then have that alarm thing happen all over again. My grandma was super stoked that every time I drove her around the alarm had to sound before we could get back in the car to leave somewhere. In the middle of BFE nowhere a warning light came on with some symbol I didn't recognize. There was no manual in the glovebox, so I couldn't figure out what the problem might be. I pulled over at a gas station when the car started to smell like burning gears. I waited awhile and then proceeded because there was really nothing I could do at that point. I drove through the tiny towns of Arkansas in the middle of the night expecting the car to leave me stranded in 30 degree weather. When I arrived back in Conway, I let the car sit overnight. Of course the next day it was behaving normally. The second key fob had even started working again. I let the clerk know all this when I took the car back. She was a different clerk but was also sullen and didn't give two craps about my experience. She took no notes about the problems I had with the car. This Budget Car Rental place sucks majorly.
