Had some apps at the bar. Chowder was good but not $10 good. Pimento biscuits were delish. Between three and four stars. Gonna try it again for $1 oyster Thursdays.

Unbelievable fish. I had their scallops and they were amazing!

The atmosphere is very classy without being overly formal and the staff was helpful answering questions, attentetive to our needs, and very friendly.

Lots of windows overlooking Washington Park, as well. Great restaurant.

I highly recommend Anchor OTR as a nice date spot. I cannot speak to the quality or the prices of the food on the regular menu, as the only time I was there was for oyster night. We were warmly greeted and sat at a table inside. The inside dining area is freezing. I mean, way too cold. The hostess moved us to a different table that wasn't next to an air conditioner vent and covered the vent closest to us with a magazine. When she noticed I was still uncomfortable, she unintrusively asked me if we would like to sit outside. At no point were we made to feel like we were a burden. Her hospitality is genuine. She's saved the dining experience and turned me from an eh, I may come back into a return guest. I believe her name was Kiera, give her a raise.
We ordered ten oysters, which came with four accompaniments, and martinis. The oysters were fresh, and the martinis were properly made. The outside area is just wonderful, and faces Washington Park. I will return.

I would definitely recommend going on Thursday's for the dollar oysters. That's about as good a deal as you can get, even buying them from a store. I had heard the octopus was good, but I had no idea it was going to be this good. It's expensive at $17 but it's also one of the largest portions of octopus I've ever gotten. It was so good I was about to throw down for a second one. My wife doesn't enjoy seafood so she got the vegetarian meal. It was one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. The flavor in the different mashes and veggies was incredible. The other meals we got a grouper and a whole branzino were OK but now worth the $30 price tags. Go for their deals and octopus and skip the rest of the overpriced food.
